have been involved in dance since I was 7 years old. I took ballet classes from 7 to 15 years old having a major's examination, intermediate foundation, when I was 14. Furthermore, I took part in a ballet concert when I was 13. When I was 13, I joined the Temasek Freestylers, a dance co-curricular activity, in school. In 2014, we held a dance concert which I was a part of and in 2015, I took part in SYF where we clinched distinction. Also in 2015, I took part in the Super 24 competition along with 23 other members where we clinched the 1st place. Over the course of 4 years with the Temasek Freestylers, I took part in various performances during school assembly, speech day as well as Aestrella, also known as evening under the stars, which is a school event.
My various acting experiences are from a drama workshop my school held for all students when I was 14, whereby we had to perform a few scenes from Animal Farm. Also, when I was 13, we had to role play a Shakespearean Classic, Macbeth. Lastly when I was 15, I had a Chinese project where my friends and I had to film a short film and edit it ourselves.
I enjoy taking on new challenges, not being afraid to try out new things, challenging myself in the process. For example in the play Macbeth, I took up the role of lady Macbeth, a very scheming and evil character while in the play Animal Farm, I chose to be Molly, a character which is vain and rude.
I am also someone who is very easy going & fun loving, thus being able to easily integrate myself into different groups. For example in a classroom setting, I am able to work with those whom I am close to and also those whom I have never worked with before. To me, it is an amazing and an eye opening opportunity to work with new people each time as it makes me feel refreshed!
I am also one who is very down to earth. I stand firm in what I believe but am also willing to correct my mistakes. By standing firm in what I believe, I mean that I am not easily swayed by the influences of others. For example, my dream is to become a journalist in the future but there are some around me who have advised me that being a journalist is hard work and not really feasible. However, I stay unshaken as being a journalist has always been my dream since I was young. By being willing to correct my mistakes, I mean that I take heed to corrections and try my best to never repeat them again.
In all honesty, I believe that I'll do everything given to me with pride and with a steadfast spirit.
