We are casting in Singapore for a low budget short film"Oil & Shadow" (approx. 15 mins) intended for film festivals. It is written and directed by Leon Cheo (https://www.instagram.com/leoncheo). Produced by Goh Ming Siu (https://linktr.ee/gohmingsiu). Supported by the Singapore Film Commission.

LOGLINE

It's Hussain's 13th birthday. He’s having a beach house celebration with his family. But they have an uninvited guest.

ROLES

Hussain, Male, Malay or mixed, 12-16.
Moody teenager who doesn't find it cool to spend time with his parents anymore. The role requires performer to be partially unclothed.

Anita, Female, Asian/Southeast Asian, 30-45.
No-nonsense and strict but would catch a grenade for her son.

Imran, Male, Malay, 30-45.
The kind of parent who expresses his love by spoiling their children.

Fisherman, Male, Asian, 40-60.
Unkempt, unfriendly, unknown.

Dark Figure, Any gender/ethnicity, 20-45.
Reptilian and cat-like predator. We're looking for unique body types and features. The role requires performer to be partially unclothed. Dance and performance experience a plus.

IMPORTANT INFO

All roles are paid S$500 flat. Total film budget S$23,000.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted for a Zoom audition.

If you are new to acting, you are welcome too! We love working with new talent.

SAFETY & SUPPORT

An intimacy coordinator will be present for all relevant scenes.

All blocking and choreography will be discussed in advance, with the actor’s input.

Consent is prioritised—actors may withdraw at any stage without penalty.
