Logline:
The ghost of AH MA returns home and reunites with her grandson, XING, to search for a missing heirloom.

Short summary:
AH MA has been returning home from the netherworld in search for a missing heirloom. But this time, her grandson (XING) is able to see her. After the initial spooky encounter, XING agrees to help her and unintentionally discovers the family’s past.
“Grandma in July” is about having second chance to resolve regrets and reconcile relationships, even after death.

Tentative shoot date: Late July – early August
Duration of shoot: 3 days (All night scenes)
Rehearsal and script reading: 3 days maximum

Casting:
Main role: XING (Male)
- Screen age: 16 – 24 years old
- Race: Chinese
- Personality: Timid, soft, kind hearted and lazy. Despite his behaviour, he is actually sharp and quick witted.
- Dialogue: Singaporean mandarin
- Requirement: Needs to act really petrified (only 1 horror scene)

Main role: Grandma (Ghost)
- Screen age: 60 – 70 years old
- Race: Chinese
- Personality: Open-minded on life/death, cheeky, blunt and unreserved, more like friends than grandmother/grandson relationship.
- Dialogue: Singaporean mandarin
- Requirement: Comfortable with acting as a ghost/spirit.

Supporting role: Mother
- Screen age: Mid 40s
- Race: Chinese
- Personality: Strict and serious
- Dialogue: Singaporean mandarin
- Requirement: Ok with very short screen time.
