- His discovery about his mom's illness shocks and grieves him. Still, it didn't hinder him from spending more time with her.

2. Mother
- age range ; 30s - 50s
- chinese speaking
- jovial and humorous
- headstrong and straightforward
- She worries only for her family whom she knows she has to part with after a limited time.
