The P film company is coasting for a narrative government video shoot looking for various talents.
This charming tale is presented in 2 timelines, 1990s and the present 2024.
Our protagonist, Ming as an inquisitive boy with a knack for losing his way home in the 90s and as a working-class adult in present.
And his mother, a woman with a tough exterior but a tender heart, who is determined to guide her son home.
We see the journey through the vibrant neighbourhood, the tight-knit and diverse community around them - juxtaposing it with the modernization efforts in the present.
Talent requirement :
1) Young Ming - An inquisitive boy with a knack for losing his way home. Good-natured and bubbly personality, 5 to 7 years old. English and Mandarin speaking role.
2) Adult Ming - Happily married with successful career, late 20s to 30s. English and Mandarin speaking role.
3 & 3a)Ming’s Mother in her 20s & 50s- Single mum with tough exterior but a tender heart. She’s stern when needed, but tender and loving most of the time. Mandarine speaking role
4) Rani - Ming’s fiancee, Indian. Young working-class adult, sweet and likeable, in her 20s. English speaking role
5) Aunty Sim - Ming’s neighbour, has been his neighbour since he was born. Friendly & chatty, a resident gardener, 40s to 60s. Mandarin speaking role
6) Mak Romi - Malay stall owner, 40s to 60s, friends with Ming’s mother. Mandarin speaking role.
7) Uncle Muthu - Provision shop owner in the 90s, retiree in present day.
8) Featured extra roles:
a) Middle-aged male & female, all races, has experience in Zumba and Tai chi
