My enjoyment of acting and singing started at a very early age, where, in Britain, I would regularly attend a Youth Theatre and perform in 2 productions a year. This included plays as well as musicals. I was also a member of a youth choir, and we would regularly sing for events. I studied drama at school and then went on to college to do A-level drama and theatre studies. We performed a myriad of pieces, including classical as well as some very hard-hitting plays by the likes of Jim Cartwright and Sarah Kane. I enjoy the experience of slipping into another person's shoes and taking on their life as if it were my own. That deep level of introspection and finding that huge amount of empathy required for a role takes a lot of personal effort, but one that I find massively rewarding. Of course, I absolutely love seeing shows and plays and watching films and finding tactics and inspiration from listening to actors' interviews.
Away from the performing arts, I will go out of my way to pet dogs in the street and love sitting and reading a book undisturbed.
I am currently working as a teacher in Singapore, and before that I worked in a small farmhouse in the middle of the Mediterranean sea on an island called Gozo teaching English as a foreign language.
