Hi there! My name is Jazmine Monaz, i am 20 years old and I am eager to be given an opportunity to work with you! I am deeply passionate about theatre and I can promise you my full commitment and effort, if you choose to consider me.
Although I only have three years of experience in the industry, I have cultivated the skills and techniques needed for a performer through actor training in relation to physical theatre, dance, and musical theatre, as well as feedback from my instructors. As the Drama President of Catholic Junior College’s Drama Society, I have also learned leadership skills, which improves my self-discipline and the way I lead my team members. In school, I have acted in four plays with a diverse range of characters, which allows me to learn to be flexible and open to experimenting with different characters.
I am also a former member of Buds Youth Theatre, which provided me with an avenue where I could further expand my knowledge and skills as a performer. Through Buds, I have been given the opportunity to act in two plays and wrote one on my own, which was chosen to be a part of From Scratch 2018, a yearly event in Buds that showcases the youth members’ scripts. In 2017, I was also a part of the Asian Youth Theatre Festival (AYTF) as a performer and the festival allowed me to watch plays and attend workshops by other Asian countries, which increased my exposure to the different cultures in Asian theatre. The festival also helped to further motivate me to contribute to the art scene in Singapore after seeing the passion that the budding actors showed. Through my short three years in theatre, I have also learned skills in relation to physical theatre, dance, as well as musical theatre.
