Hello! I am Rachel and I'm currently a student.
I have been dancing for 15 years (since I was 3). I am trained in ballet, contemporary, hip-hop and kpop. However, I am versatile and open to any style of dance. I participated in the Singapore Youth Festival in 2019, achieving Distinction. I was also the vice president of my dance co-curricular activity (CCA). I have a lot of experience in performing, having participated in many ballet performances organized by my ballet school, as well as school performances. I also have some experience in choreographing.
I have experience in acting for both film and theatre, having taken part in dramatizations of Shakespeare's Hamlet, Merchant of Venice and Romeo and Juliet. I have played the roles of Gertrude, Portia and Juliet. I was the President of my school's Drama Club, leading us to attain a Distinction in an original production at the SYF 2022. I have also written, directed and starred in numerous school productions.
Furthermore, I am also experienced in acting on professional sets. In 2020, I was casted in a short film, Strawberry Cheesecake, produced by Akanga Films Asia. The film was selected for the prestigious Locarno Film Festival, and premiered in Locarno, Switzerland. Since then, I have continuously acted, either in school or local short films. I am extremely passionate about acting, and would love to get the opportunity to act in productions. I also hope to have a career in the film and media industry, so learning how to navigate film sets would be a great experience for me. I am also open to helping out with the camera, lights and sounds, as I would like to be a director someday. This would be a great learning opportunity for me!
In 2018, I performed James Arthur's "Let It Go", as part of my school's Aesthetics module. This module required me to work with a band, which helped my interpersonal and cooperative skills. This also required us to be flexible and fine-tuning each of our distinct styles to sync with each other.
I am keen and eager to learn, as well as open to many different projects! I can help out the crew on set, and I am a very hard worker! I am also very open to criticism and always hope to improve my skills.
