My love of acting developed at an early age. I was on the stage as soon as I entered Kindergarden, putting up performances both in school and at home for relatives and friends. I have always been interested in the media and entertainment industry and thus did a Diploma in Mass Communication where I took a module on acting. The opportunity finally came when Crazy Rich Asians was casting for background extras. I have since taken on other supporting roles in local movies and dramas for the past 6-7 years. Some of the projects I was a part of are:
- Restaurant patron in “Ah Boys To Men 4”,
-supporting roles in local dramas
“Slow Dancing”, “Mindjumpers”, “Oppa Saranghae”, and the recently competed local movie “King of Hawkers”.
I was also a part-time radio DJ with Power 98 until end of June 2019. My chatty, bubbly, vivacious and slightly crazy (the good kind though, and just a good amount of it) had presented me with the opportunity to be a radio DJ. In the beginning of 2019, I was selected to be a Social Media Correspondent for Hallyupopfest 2019 where I embarked on an exhilarating four months journey of online hosting for HallyuPopFest TV (HPFTV). Filming each episode of HPFTV for their social media handles allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and explore creative ideas for each video. I have also grown more accustomed to being in front of the camera with each filming, and had a great time being myself and hosting the series with my co-host! This hosting experience with Hallyupopfest 2019 presented me with the opportunity to interview rising K-pop boy group A.C.E. Coupled with my ability to speak a third language, Korean, I was able to interact with them comfortably in an engaging, fun and natural manner. I have since started to emcee and do live announcing broadcasts.
