Ren Jie started his acting career from theatre in 2002 with The Arts Theatre of Singapore for about 4 years doing mandarin shows. In 2005, he started acting with Mediacorp channel 8 and have participated in more than 20 dramas till date. His latest role is a gangster named Ah B in an upcoming drama 回家.
He underwent singing courses at Tinybox Music, Focus Music, NTU and NIE and also artiste management training under the tutelage of local singer/songwriter Roy Li Fei Hui. In 2006, he was selected as one of the top 20 male finalists for Channel U’s Campus Superstar 2. He was also a finalist for many singing competitions such as Teenage Icon, Stardust and Impresario. Ren Jie also worked with Mr Iskandar Ismail and performed the SYF theme song in 2007.
Apart from acting, Ren Jie is also a dance and vocal instructor in Taneo Dance Academy.
